Roof Re-Bedding and Repointing Canberra
Your roof’s ridge and hip capping sit on a bed of mortar that holds them in place, sealed with a layer of pointing on top. Over time, Canberra’s hot summers and freezing winter nights cause the mortar to expand and contract. Eventually, it cracks, crumbles and loosens, allowing the capping to shift. Re-bedding and repointing help secure the capping and protect your roof from the elements.
Roof re-bedding: We carefully lift the ridge caps, remove the old, deteriorated bedding and lay a fresh mortar bed. Each cap is then reset in perfect alignment, which gives your roof a solid, watertight ridge line.
